Patterns and me

Summer is here and I’ve started to think about my summer wardrobe. I have a gaping hole for light summer tops and simple summer dresses. Over the year, I've been collecting sewing patterns on Pinterest, you know, in the off chance that I may find time to make something... but I'm such a busy girl these days, so I'm going to have to make this a priority.

I’m thinking of making one of these below. Of course I'm only a beginner, so the simplest patterns will still be difficult for me, but I'm embracing this sewing challenge. I'm leaning towards this beautiful maxi skirt because I have a little crush on all things maxi. They are just so comfortable.

It looks super flattering and the fabric is gorgeous!

The gorgeous fabric is confetti viscose from Tessuti Fabrics.

Or perhaps, I should make this adorable smock style top. Not only super cute, but goes gorgeously with skinny jeans and sandles and simply screams lazy summer afternoons!

Alice... Like all patterns Tessuti, loose and comfy... This is the style for me.

I love the mix of fabrics, striped Stone D'Ville linen and a Liberty for the yoke and sleeve facings. Thank you Tessuti!

Which do you like? You can see the rest of my sewing pattern collection on my Pinterest board, must sew. And then for my next challenge, to find the perfect fabric!
