business card love

I just love receiving packages and this week has been no exception. I've had so many orders of fabric arrive this week along with a small package of my new business cards. But not only have I been receiving packages, but I've also been sending them too. I hope my packages bring a smile to ones face, as they do to me.

A little blog post about why I started 'little miss gee' and some advice on living your dreams and doing what you love.

Retro and vintage love

Welcome to Ozone Bazaar - a heavenly new store situated in country Victoria, right in the heart of Warrnambool's CBD. At first glance you may assume it is a tiny antique and junk store but look closer and you'll see a huge mix of gorgeous items that are full of charm and character.

Ozone Bazaar is a treasure trove of antique and retro furniture, ornaments, textiles, clothes and art from a variety of eras past. It's full of great vintage designer pieces to spice up any decor. I could spend hours in here foraging amongst all it's pieces.

So if you live in Warrnambool, and haven't already found this treasure, then is definitely worth a visit. You can find them at Ozone Walk Alley, Warrnambool. If you don't live in Warrnambool don't despair, you can forage through all their lovely pieces and buy online here or check out their facebook page.

I hope you enjoy this store as much as I do.

Pattern Review - New Look 6356

Here it is finally!

I finished my misses top made up of an Amy Butler cotton fabric. I began making this in a Tessuti's Sew Inn class and just finished it this morning. It was my first time working from a pattern and it was defiantly a challenge.

Although I could have made it a little smaller, it still fits quite perfect in a loose way. The pattern was a stretch for my beginner sewing skills, but with help from class it came together without too many incidents.

The neckline and arms took me a while to nut out (ie. it took numerous readings and re-readings of the instructions and lots of studying pictures in my sewing book). It was my first time sewing a zipper too which turns out, is not so hard! I also modified the length and made it shorter to suit my shape.

I'm so glad I persisted, I'm feeling very pleased with myself!

Sew Inn & My Week

Tessuti Fabrics Sew Inn Class

I've had quite a creative week, but with little progress, but I can't complain! Here's what I've been doing:
  • Browsing through all the pattern books in Clegs
  • A little freelance work
  • Watching what I eat
  • Exercising every single day
  • Reading Frankie Magazine in the sun
  • Watching Neighbours
  • Taking advantage of the exclusive free business card offer
  • Getting ready for my Sew Inn class at Tessuti Fabrics
  • Finding inspirational books at the local library
  • Reading lots of great blogs (like this one, this one, this one and this one!)
  • Instagramming
  • Pinterestting
On the weekend, I attending a beginners Sew Inn class at Tessuti Fabrics. I went in with the hope to complete two projects, and boy was I wrong. I only managed to complete about half of one. Reading patterns can be so hard when you have never done it before! Oh well, I've spent the better half of yesterday trying to finish it but no luck! Until next time......

What I did manage to do was to learn quite a lot and also picked up some great tips. I'll fill you in with my project once I'm finished.

Español in Instagrams....

I know, I'm a little slow in updating my blog, but finally here are some of my photos of Spain.

From San Sebastian to Barcelona, this is the land of flamenco, siestas, bullfighting, and tapas. Devoted to living the good life, Spain is a country more diverse than I ever imagined.

It's Roman ruins, cathedrals and Islamic architecture, speak of a country where great civilisations of history have risen and fallen. It's also a culinary feast, with paella, tapas, jamon, and olives in abundance. But let's not forget the creative souls of Dali, Picasso and Gaudi. I was in an art lovers paradise! It doesn't get any more jaw-dropping than Barcelona's breathtaking church, La Sagrada Familia and Madrid's impressive golden art triangle.

Spain is a country the lives very much in the present, you can sense it along a crowded midnight street when all the world has come out to play. It was truly amazing!
